Marie Curie: Minister Responds Print

East Surrey MP Peter Ainsworth has received a response from Health Minister Phil Hope to his representations on the closure of the Marie Curie service in Caterham.

As expected, the Minister says that since Marie Curie is an independent charity he is not able to become involved in their decisions. However, it is clear that what Marie Curie are proposing flies in the face of Government policy for end of life care.

Peter Ainsworth comments:

"The Minister suggests that I discuss my concerns with Marie Curie Cancer Care, which of course I have already done. The trouble is that they don't seem to want to listen, let alone respond."
