East Surrey MP, Peter Ainsworth, has welcomed the launch of the Tandridge Community Grassroots Fund.

The Fund – which will be run in partnership with the Surrey Community Foundation – has been set up to provide a District-wide sustainable source of funding to support community projects, voluntary groups and, depending on the Fund’s success, individuals.

The Fund will be controlled by, and operate to the benefit of the people of Tandridge, with any not-for-profit organisation in the District being able to apply for funding.

The Fund will also benefit from the Government’s Gift Aid scheme.

Speaking on the launce, Mr Ainsworth said:

“I was delighted to learn of this initiative, and in particular welcome that the Fund will be available for good causes across the whole of the Tandridge area.

“Local people have an amazing track record of being generous in our community. I hope and believe this new Fund will provide a further incentive to assist the voluntary sector, which already plays an active and hugely positive role in improving services and an enhanced sense of well-being across Tandridge.”
