East Surrey MP, Peter Ainsworth, has urged local charities and not-for-profit organisations to take advantage of EDF Energy’s ‘Green Fund’; a series of grants intended to help cover the costs of small scale renewable energy technology.
Eligible organisations can apply for grants of up to £30,000, with the scheme being funded by customers who have signed up to EDF’s Green Tariff. The average Green Tariff customer contributes £15 per year into the fund, with this sum being matched by EDF.
Mr Ainsworth said:
“This is an excellent scheme which can benefit a whole range of not-for-profit organisations and the environment. I encourage all eligible parties to look seriously at the grants on offer.”
